VanDerGinst Law takes great pride in its community involvement. Each year VanDerGinst Law sponsors a large number of youth athletic teams. The firm participates in a number of other worthy causes each year. In addition, the firm and its employees participate in and/or sponsor \ a number of annual activities and events. Below is a list of some examples:

1. “Hard Headed Kids” - VanDerGinst Law proudly gives away thousands of bike safety helmets each year to children in the communities served by the firm. Our goal is to make as many “Hard Headed” kids as possible!  [read more]
   
   
2. “Children’s Video Identification Campaign” – Each year VanDerGinst Law sponsors a campaign to videotape and/or fingerprint children, often with local celebrities. These efforts are made in order to be able to identify children in the tragic event that (s)he should come up missing. [more]
   
   
3. “VanDerGinst Law Scholarship Program” – Each year the firm sponsors a scholarship competition. Graduating seniors vie for scholarship money donated by VanDerGinst Law via an essay contest. [more]
   
   
4. “Legally Speaking” - VanDerGinst Law coordinates a program called "Legally Speaking", which offers the firm's attorneys as speakers for various functions and events. When appropriate, the firm's offices are also made available for organizational meetings and functions.
   
   
5. “Fan Drive”- VanDerGinst Law donates a number of electric fans each summer to the elderly and others who may be at risk for heat stroke and other tragedies as a result of stifling Midwest heat and humidity. The firm also sponsors the fan drive of WQAD (Quad Cities ABC affiliate), in order to get others to donate to the cause.
   
   
6. "Play It Safe" Campaign - Each year VanDerGinst Law airs a number of public service announcements congratulating graduating high school seniors and encouraging them to celebrate wisely, to "Play it Safe" and not drink and drive. This year the campaign will extend to Prom night safety concerns and will involve presentations at local area schools.
   
   
7. “Teacher of the Year” - VanDerGinst Law is a huge advocate for quality education. In support thereof the firm annually sponsors a “Teacher of the Year” program, recognizing and rewarding teachers who have garnered the love, respect and devotion of their students.
   
   
8. Toys for Tots - VanDerGinst Law donates and collects new toys to be distributed by the U. S. Marine Corp. Toys for Tots program, and sponsors WQAD's Toy Drive.
   
   
9. "Ask the Professional" - VanDerGinst Law is the resident legal expert on the WHBF (Quad Cities CBS Affiliate) website. VanDerGinst Law will prepare an extensive FAQ for the site and will respond to e-mailed legal inquiries.
   
   
10. “Coat Drive” - VanDerGinst Law donates a number of coats and coordinates an annual effort to collect new and used coats for the homeless and other needy individuals during the winter months.
    
    
11. “Local Heroes Program and Day” – Each year the firm recognizes local members of the military, police, fire and other emergency personnel at a picnic/banquet in their honor.
    
    
12. “Nursing Home Abuse and Neglect Seminars”- VanDerGinst Law is proud to coordinate and present a seminar series that focuses on recognizing the dangers to our loved ones in nursing homes.
    
    
13. “Blood Drive”- VanDerGinst Law will create a FREE simple will for anyone donating blood and willing to come to one of our offices. (i.e. you cannot simply e-mail or call for a will to be created.)
    
    
14. “E-newsletter and News You Can Use”- Legal and consumer news items are updated almost every day on our website, www.thepeoplesfirm.com. Additionally, we send a monthly newsletter via e-mail to all of our clients and friends of the firm.
    
    
15. “Medico/Legal Seminars”- VanDerGinst Law proudly presents a series of seminars on medico/legal issues to the local medical and chiropractic community.
