They are continuously upgrading their skills and meet on a regular basis to discuss issues in their respective areas of practice and to ensure they keep abreast of developments in the law as they occur.

The staff in our office works as a fully integrated team, supported by a management structure that includes technological support and administrative services.

Ricky Edward Bagolie

Ricky Edward Bagolie represents clients on a wide range of personal injury litigation matters in the areas of nursing home neglect, workers' compensation, workplace and railroad injury (FELA), toxic exposures and wrongful death litigation as well as Municipal Court matters involving the trucking industry. Admitted to the New Jersey and Florida Bars in 1994 after having graduated from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts (B.S. magna cum laude, 1989) and Rutgers University School of Law in Newark, New Jersey (J.D., 1993), he also attended the Tel Aviv School of Law in Israel.

Prior to co-founding Bagolie Friedman, LLC, Mr. Bagolie served as a Judicial Clerk to the Honorable Peter F. Boggia, Judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey and was a partner with the Jersey City law firm, Horn Shechtman, PC, where he founded their Nursing Home Litigation Department.

He is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America - NJ, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the National Citizens' Coalition for Nursing Home Reform, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America's Nursing Home Neglect and Firefighter's Hearing Loss Litigation Groups as well as the Workplace and Railroad Injury Sections.

Mr. Bagolie is active in his home-town community of Clifton, New Jersey where he is president of the Passaic-Clifton Chapter of UNICO National, a trustee of the Passaic County 200 Club and an associate member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 46.

Alan T. Friedman

Alan has a B.A. degree from Binghamton University in English. He graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 1993. He is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and New York. He was a partner at Horn, Shechtman, P.C. prior to forming Bagolie Friedman, LLC. Alan is a Certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney. This is a designation that less than 3% of New Jersey attorneys qualify for.

Alan concentrates his practice in the area of personal injury trial work for plaintiffs. He specializes in products liability, FELA (railroad workers), asbestos cases, worker's compensation, wrongful death cases, traumatic brain injury cases and automobile accident cases. He has won large jury verdicts in New Jersey and New York State Courts and is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.

He is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA), The New Jersey Association of Trial Lawyers, the Hudson County Bar Association, and is a trustee of the North Hudson Lawyers. He is also a Governor of ATLA's Young Lawyers Division.

Alan has been a guest lecturer at Rutgers University and at the Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine on the subject of the role of epidemiology in the law. Alan has also lectured to lawyers on the subject of epidemiology. Alan is proud to have represented 9-11 World Trade Center Victims and their families pro-bono as a member of the Trial Lawyers Care program. Alan is married and has two sons.

Arthur I. Shechtman, Esq.

Arthur Shechtman, "Of Counsel" to Bagolie Friedman, concentrates in negligence, product liability, matrimonial and workers compensation; admitted to the New Jersey bar in 1968.

Arthur is available to lecture, free of charge, to organizations regarding New Jersey Automobile Law, Workers' Compensation Law and Nursing Home Negligence.

Gene Horn and Arthur Shechtman have been practicing law together for over 30 years.

Eugene Horn, "Of Counsel" to Bagolie Friedman and senior partner of Horn Shectman, concentrates in tort law, representing individuals who have suffered serious injuries or death as a result of negligence. He is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and New York, as well as the Supreme Court of the United States. He is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, as well as the American Trial Lawyers Association in New Jersey and at the national level. Mr. Horn is a member of the Elder Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the National Nursing Home Tort Litigation Group, the Academy of Rail Labor Attorneys and the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Mr. Horn has spoken on trial practice issues and how to maximize the use of demonstrative evidence.

Eugene Horn is a graduate of Yeshiva University and received his legal degree from New York University Law School.
